He came to Australia in 2005 and since then he has been very well recognised and awarded with LEAD (Leadership) award in 2006 and 2008, Cross Cultural Leadership Award in 2008 and was honored with International Student Community Service Award in 2008, and has been asked to write for numerous number of publications including Australia-India: A growing Partnership 2009. Amit is also the President of Federation of Indian Students of Australia a non-profit, student body that provides representation, empowerment and integration opportunities to the Students especially Indian Students. Amit was also the founder of the Taal Foundation Entertainment Group and the Asia Pacific Media Club.
