Phillip Hudson

Phillip Hudson is the National Political Editor of The Herald Sun.
He has worked in the Canberra Press Gallery since 1994 and covered six federal election campaigns, 19 Budgets, four Prime Ministers, 10 Opposition Leaders and one hung Parliament. During the 2010 election campaign he broke the “real Julia” story.
Phillip joined The Herald in Melbourne in 1989 and worked as a police reporter, property editor and senior business writer before moving to Canberra as economics reporter for the Herald Sun and other News Limited papers. He has held positions including political correspondent for The Age and The Sunday Age and Bureau Chief for The Sydney Morning Herald.
Phillip is a now long-ago winner of the Melbourne Press Club Young Journalist of the Year Award. He is also the recent-past President of the Federal Parliamentary Press Gallery.
