Jack Archer

Jack Archer leads research and policy at the Regional Australia Institute – Australia’s independent think tank on regional policy issues.
Before taking on his current role, role Jack worked on a range of national reforms related to water, climate change, industry and welfare in the non-government sector, as a consultant and as a public servant.
Originally from the Hunter Valley in NSW, Jack was educated in the New England and now lives in the hills west of Canberra.
He hopes that his varied experience gives him a good perspective on regional Australia, its unique challenges and the role it plays in the success of the nation.
As well as the day job he has a young family, shares in a family farm and a new house. In 2013 he is looking forward to spending less time building decks and more time 4wding, bushwalking and contributing to national debate.
