Duncan McFetridge
Duncan McFetridge was born in England and came to South Australia with his family in 1954. Duncan grew up and went to school in Elizabeth and Salisbury. After teaching high school for a few years, Duncan studied veterinary science at Murdoch University in Perth. Duncan returned to South Australia and built up a very successful veterinary practice in the south of Adelaide which he sold before entering Parliament as the Member for Morphett in 2002.
Duncan has held numerous shadow portfolios and is currently Shadow Minister for Health, Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Veterans’ Affairs. He was also a member of the Aboriginal Lands Parliamentary Standing Committee from 2003 – 2010 and has learned to speak Pitjantjatjara.
Duncan is a former CFS captain and a member of many clubs including Rotary. His other interests include sailing, surfing and personal fitness.
