David Carter
David Carter is Suncorp Life Executive General Manager Direct Distribution and a member of the Suncorp Life Executive Team. He joined the Suncorp Group in April 2006, initially as Head of Dealerships for Asteron where he was responsible for the Guardian Financial Planning and Cameron Walshe advice businesses.
Since December 2006 David has been responsible for Suncorp Group’s owned and aligned distribution channels, including the aligned channels of Guardian, Cameron Walshe and Standard Pacific, the Suncorp branded advice businesses. During 2009 he took on responsibility for delivering the revitalised Suncorp Life Direct Marketing business model which successfully launched in May 2010.
A member of the IFSA (Investment Financial Services Association) Financial Advice Network board committee, David is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) with post graduate qualifications in Finance, Investment, and Financial Planning, and is a Fellow of FINSIA (Financial Services Institute of Australasia). He has spent more than 20 years working in the financial services industry with roles spanning wealth management, financial advice, corporate banking, credit and finance.
