Bill Whittaker

Bill Whittaker has worked in HIV policy and strategy for more than 25 years in Australia and internationally. He contributed to the United Nations General Assembly’s Special Sessions on HIV/AIDS in 2001, 2006 and 2011. Bill served as a commissioner on the UNAIDS High Level Commission on HIV Prevention.  He has written strategic plans on HIV, including for the World Health Organization, UNAIDS and the International AIDS Society.   He is a special representative of the National Association of People with HIV (Australia) and a Board member of Pacific Friends of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria.  He is a former CEO of the AIDS Council of NSW (ACON) and President of the Australian Federation of AIDS Organization.
