How long can Peter Garrett last? He’s probably rather be at the dentist getting teeth removed with no anaesthetic than go to Question Time today. Join us here from 2pm as we cover it live.

Abbott & Co can’t land a punch. . . You’d have to think Abbott has reached his use-by-date as potential PM. . . . He has not ability in debate except acting as a bovver boy !

lol… his popularity is getting higher each day, and centrebets have Lib odds continually getting lower (Still a longshot, mind)

To be honest, he’s been punching Garrett over and over and over… Garrett is a rubber man. Invincible really. I guess the only way to solve the impass is to vote the whole government out at the next election, which I believe is becoming more and more likely.

The opposition can’t lay a glove on garrett - he’ll survive and Abbott has waster another QT being shrill and vindictive. . . .just like the government wanted !

I’ve discovered it’s far quicker ringing Garrett’s office directly on 02 6277 7640 rather than ringing the ‘hotline.’  I’m trying to have my mother’s insulation inspected and after twenty minutes on hold one’s patience is wearing very thin!

This insulation affair is a ginormous stuff up and has killed more Australians than the Iraq war…I think the Minister must go ( I really cannot see how he can remain on without killing this Government!)  and the opposition must keep the pressure on.  Australians should get rid of this Government on election day. It acts as if it was accountable for nothing and to nobody. It acts as if it was accepting bribery….It does not pass the smell test!

Can someone tell Albanese that shouting does not change the fact about Garrett’s Failures.

What happened to buyer beware? If a guy in a pair of thongs and a wifebeater turns up for your enquiry don’t you go “HUH?”

Well actually, Garrett is looking very much like an hysterical, desperate loser these days - wild eyes - snappy…. hardly the super cool dude he pretends to be.  I think Abbotts hammering is working - Garrett is rattled, and the more rattled he gets the more incoherant he becomes… it is like watching someone slowly implode.  Mr Invincible ?? Hardly smile
Of course Rudd won’t sack him - he will never admit to failure of any sort, purely on the principle of never being wrong.

Shouldnt the focus shift to tracking down the crooked tradies and suppliers who rorted the system?  Claim back as much of the money as possible, confiscate their assetts and make an example of as many as possible of them so that next time a wellmeaning politician tries to do the right thing, these bogans dont stuff it up for everyone.

I know. It’s a shame really. All the gummint did was offer an under-regulated sector a few billion dollars, on the condition that the money was spent very quickly, and then ignored the advice of very expensive consultants who warned of the very same dangers that resulted in four deaths.

But they meant well, so that’s OK.

Steve,  it’s funny… I don’t remember one of the conditions being to cut as many corners as humanly possible and fob off any mistakes back on the government. I must have missed that memo.

What a sad little man Tony Abbott is going by his woeful performance in QT today. Totally unable to pin Peter Garrett with straightforward questions he again resorts to an act of desparation and moves once again a censure motion. Then waffles on with no facts at all to justify it. Abbott is not a man to be trusted by Australians. He is not PM material. He is just a sad little man at the end of his parliamentary career having a last hurrah. Later this year we will all be able to say goodbye once and for all to silly Tony !

I work for Fletcher Insulations, and today we were told of a company shutdown of at least 4 weeks and some redundancies will be offered in the coming days because of too much stock.  Not because we are producing too much, but the company has imported more batts in the past six months than what we can produce in one year.  This is how the Stimulus Package is stimulating our economy.
