Sure hope Kevin Rudd doesn’t become as bitter and hate filled as Mark Latham or John Howard for that matter.

Mark Latham hate filled surely not.

@steve, what has John Howard ever done to be hate filled. He congratulated Maxine and Rudd after their wins and promptly vanished from public life, only to return in the form of an ICC Presidential Candidate.

In Penbo’s Bennelong article yesterday, he mentioned the 80 yr old lollipop man had go a stop sign put in because of Howards campaigning during both his time as PM and after he had lost his seat. I don’t think anyone is as bitter as Latham, but you could excuse Rudd

@Macca maybe we should ask Muttiah Muralitharan or even the Costellos about his warm generous nature.  Maybe the several hundred thousand Iraqis killed when he ordered our troops to invade, or perhaps the schools throughout Australia that missed out on a flag pole because they could not get a member of the former government along to the openning ceremony.

The fact that Tony Abbott has resorted to using the law and order card in his electioneering proves he has nothing constructive to offer.  He’s so desperate, that in a minute he’ll be back to bagging aborines, and asylum seekers - typical Lib use of the disadvantaged as election fodder!

I read yesterday Britain is importing the Chevrolet Camaro… in left-hand drive, and wondered why GM Aust. doesn’t do likewise. I mean, they can’t be serious in expecting the locals to suffer the crappy cruze as our sole import, can they ?

    • Macca says:

Top Gear reviewed the Noble M15 (a few seasons back I know, GO is a bit behind) and I want one. Its left-hand Drive and unlike the Camaro should be able to navigate slight turns in the road

Yeah why not. True Liberals would not confine anyone to a single side of the road anyway. Drive anywhere . Rules are for idiots.

And about coppers and bikies..If the police have evidence that bikies are involved in drugs, they should arrest them.
If they are suspicious, they should warn them.
If they don’t know, they should leave them alone.
The only things the Law should ban are nazis, paedophiles and wet week-ends.

A lot of Jim Beam ago I remember being a school kid and each evening after some form of recreational training my routine was to train it to Fruitgrove station and drag my feet along Pearse Road, about half way through the 45 minute journey I’d pass the Vietnam VET’s bikers. A run down early 1950’s farm house complete with a 6 bay shed and surrounded by 8 foot steel fencing lined by razor wire, I remember wondering if it was electrified as well, but was never game to test my theory.

About 6 years passed and I continued to drag my feet past the same place at a more unreasonable hour of the morning although this time because I was now of drinking age. I vaguely remember sharing banter with what I thought was a Viking warrior figurine, about his pimped up three wheeler and where I could get one. As the crowd surrounding me got larger and I slowly sobered a rush of concern washed over me but I was offered booze to wash it down, a free feed and safe passage home on the back of a three wheeler hugging a 160 kilo man.

Sure they occasionally ship drugs, get in brawls with rival gangs and fortify their joint enabling a quick escape before capture, but these dudes were the climax of my previous night of mischief. I ain’t got a problem with bikers, I suspect the only ones that do are those that don’t leave them alone.

The problem with the bikie laws is “who’s next?”.  Our freedom is being stolen from us one reasonable step at a time.

Ohh ‘Outlaw’ bikers….oooohhh Outlaws…..gimme a break. I like how their take on ‘Brotherhood’ means ratting each other out to the cops with ghey abandon and banging each others missus as soon as they turn their backs. They wouldn’t know the meaning of the word ‘Brotherhood’. Maggots arenly good when they are belting up shielas or hunting in packs against one or two people. I still remember fondly the time 6 of these heroes starting harassing a bloke with short hair, young kid, minding his own business chatting to a young lady unaffiliated with said bikie trash….only to shit themselves when another 20 odd guys from the same Battalion were also drinking in that inner city establishment and stepped up to look after their mate - twas a funny night. I hate the gutless bastards - I hope the coppers harras the crap out of every single one of these whinging ‘Outlaws’ wink

Re Mark Latham and his “snake” commnt at Rudd.

News flash..in an unprecedented move, a Pot calls a Kettle BLACK.

      Anti-discrimination groups are outraged.

In a retraction, it was revealed that it was actually The Anti-Christ Calling Satan a LIAR!

      Religious groups are OUTRAGED.

In a further retraction, it was revealed that it was in fact the Labor party engaging in its usual in-house backstabbing party-factional “hate fest” for itself.

Snakes that eat their own young were OUTRAGED!!

Labor supporters went quiet and tried to distract themselves by thinking up things to say about the Liberal Party.

Labor supporters probably feel the same way about Latham, that Liberal supporters feel about Turnbull.  Chidren should be seen and not heard.  When Latham as at his peak, he talked fight, then ended up crying the first time anyone said something nasty to him! But what jerk he is to start up his rubbish during an election campaign, he should stifle his juvenile ego!

Evening Punchers!  What a day its been with all the anger over DP’s article on pensioners.  I felt quite flat when I realised what the younger generation thought of us and even worse when I saw that there were several posts recommending compulsory euthanasia.  I would prefer to think that they were just trolls.  Anyway, I found this very interesting article on the Daily Mail Online (UK) where the Lib/Dem Coalition has just announced their policy for addressing the contentious issue of social welfare:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1298830/Coalition-tear-welfare-Tax-credits-biggest-reform-decades.html .  I thought that the economists among our punchers could provide comments on it or that someone writing for The Punch could analyse it.  Just a thought.  I’m off for a coffee and an early night.
