In light of what else is published on here today I would just like to say how happy I am that it is Australia Day tomorrrow. Yep, we get a day off, but more than anything it is a time to catch up with my family and friends (no pressure as retailers are yet to make us feel like we have to buy presents for our loved ones) and enjoy life. My Australia Day (the sun is out thank god) will be a BBQ down the creek with the dog, the family and the ring ins. Grip Ball has been dusted off, he frizbee is on standby (because the dog will definately get the Grip Ball tennis ball five minutes in) and the lilo has been inflated.

I am looking forward to being thankful for what I have in my life and the people that are also within it. I am looking forward to being happy that I am an Aussie and I think that that is what the day is about. If your celebration incorprates a Cantonese feast and/or fire twirling - great. I am happy that you and your family make this country what it is. Which is fantastic.

I am 59 and as a migrant from England, tomorrow will be my 28th Australia day.

This is my home and where my heart is and I have no desire to to go back, not even on a visit. The UK has no equivalent to Australia day and is the poorer for it.

We will be having a barbie and I dare say that we may raise a cup or two with our friends and family. My partner, Judy and I would like to wish every one a great Australia day and a happy and fulfilling year ahead.

Yer know if I’m gonna get pissed, eat pies and swear at the coppers, i think I’d like to do it tomorrow cause then on Thursday I can say that yesterday was like new Years Day, only 10 times better, and I’d have ter make a New Aussie Resolution not ter to bad things anymore.
      (Well, not much.)
And wear that flag like it’s not gonna be here tomorrow, cause it may well not.

ACL says gay marriage would lead to gay sex (how to do it) being taught in schools. You really haver to credit them with vivid imagination.
