@Jugg - doesnt she look gorgeous Juggy ! I tell you what its no surprise she is riding the crest of a wave in popularity looking like that - Ms 60% when I last looked fella. Poor old J Paul Getty or whatever his name is that “leads” the sagging LNP here in QLD must look with envy - if only he could have got a makeover for Womens Weekly !  hahaahahahah

      Yes nossy,

People died, homes were obliterated, lives were destroyed.

I can see why you are overjoyed.

Horse sh*t Juggie, are you a woman? Would you have been happier if she’s been covered in crap screaming torrents of panic and directing everyone to the South, rather than look forward to better time and a bumper season after all this rain? Would you prefer a scorching drought and blowing dust? WTFRU?

And why are you overjoyed at the destruction of homes and lives?

Nice little rant there Reg.  Wrong on every count.

In the middle of human devastation, you don’t head off to to have glamour airbrushing done.  You lead.  That’s why you are are elected.  That’s what you are paid for, this is worse than Christine Nixon.

@Juggie.  “you don’t head off to to have glamour airbrushing done.”

Well you mightn’t Juggie, but if you’ve lit the fire, oiled the wheels and delegated to those most capable of affecting the repair, it’s time to raise a few spirits and apparently yours and your right-wing mates could do with a bit of a psychological lift.

Disgraceful…meaning lacking in grace…. is what perpetual whingers do and if one thing is clear from this site, it is that right-wingers are a disgraceful mob of downers.  Cheer up. smile

      LMAO

The funniest part Reggie boy is I am not right wing, not left wing.  In fact the whole political game is corrupt from one end to the other.  The Punch amuses me, especially when I see the political ranters who are delusional enough to think they have a say in how anything works or how anything is done.  No party gives a toss about voters until election time.  Don’t get me started on those here who think they are making a difference or their party is really trying to achieve…they are all in it for themselves.

So take your labels, they couldn’t be more wrong…that’s twice in two posts, you ARE doing well!

It’s wrong for ANY leader do abandon their post, moreso to have a few happy snaps taken to kid yourself that you are attractive, especially moreso when people’s lives are being lost and destroyed.

This just proves how little she cares or how grossly inept Anna Bligh is for the position of Premier.  Christine Nixon lost her job, so too should Anna Bligh.  She won’t though because the party (all parties) are so corrupt.

    • TheRealDave says:

      12:06pm | 24/02/11

Hey Juggy, if that the best you and the LNP can come up with after Anna’s brilliant two months helming Qld through two separate natural disasters then that inept fop JPL, the Borg and the rest of the equally forgettable Opposition Party in Qld better get used to those Opposition seats for at least another 4 more years.

      Have fun wink

For anyone who missed it, check out this very clever display of the distribution and intensity of the NZ quakes. You’ll have to change to the date you want to look at, but notice that today, Thursday the 24th, most of the shocks are closer to the city than they have been. Use the two boxes to retain the changing position on the map. http://www.christchurchquakemap.co.nz/

An amazingly helpful display and a credit to the originators.

Turnbulls back in the news, this time defending multiculturalism .
After the unofficial dissing the LNP has done recently of every and anything non WASP, this is definitely a slap in the face for Abbott, Morrison .
Tony should start getting quotes about vacating his office, he can now pack and stow away any ambition to be PM, or opposition leader for much longer.
Turnbull and pals will be counting numbers.
1 vote Tony is looking very shakey.

    • nossy says:

      09:14am | 24/02/11

@TChong - yes Chongy Tones days are numbered indeed - Turnbull will be labelled a “radical” by the current Redneck nutters that lead the Lib Party and who are leading the Party into the political wilderness. Maybe you and I shoud quote Tones for his Office goods removal ? Whats your hourly rate - we could give him “mates” rates huh ?

    • NicoleG says:

      09:17am | 24/02/11

Thanks for the chuckle Chongy, but you’re still confused. You have everything around the wrong way. It’s Gillard who should start getting quotes. Do you think she’ll move back to Melbourne? Or do you think she’ll start afresh somewhere else?

NikkyG.- Crazy , whacky idea - 1 vote Tony and Red, run off together !
After all that flirting for so long, the luv will win out in their love / hate relationship.
I know you’ll be planning “his” side of events - Rosie and yourself flower girls, Joan maid of honor, AtM read out hilarios telegrams, M a r k as MC , Adam D, TimmyB, Vaunted,Jade, Dash,- the whole gang.
Me, nossy, The badger, Reg and other Lefties would be in the more disreputable side of the aisle, but our noise will more than compensate for our lack of numbers.
Punch could cover the event via Lucy, Ant, Davo.
I’m sure that will bring a smile for us all.  wink
PS , for any one not mentioned, dont worry, the invites in the mail.

Rob r, DocBud, Ironsides, Marley, Wayne ( what ever happened to ?) Jules, fairsfair, and of course, EricK.
Plus many many more. The event could only take place in George Pells cathederal ( not that 1 vote Tony has ever spoken to him , honest ! )
then a classy reception at Rooty Hill RSL ,- Tonys favorite!

Gee just for an instant there I thought Tony and Malcolm were tying the knot. I just couldn’t work out who was on the bottom and who was on top. Got it now.

I’d definitely have made NicoleG the matron of honour so she could swoon dead-away with dignity. What a team! And Tony would certainly not be trusted to make the bed or do the cooking or anything really. Can’t think what Mal ever saw in him really he could certainly have done better than that. But WTF, Sh** happens.

Within the last 5 or 6 years we have had over 800,000 people immigrate to Australia. With our lack of housing and infrastructure, I would like to see a thorough debate on this issue. What are your thoughts?

Has anyone ever noticed how quiet the punch is when an open ended question is asked. Suddenly you have to have your own opinion scrutinized.

I think immigration needs to be cut. I can’t see there being a skills shortage around the 800,000 mark and I don’t see the advantage of exponential population growth.

As I understand it, it’s the frenetic expansion of high rise accommodation that is behind a lot of the loud-mouthed criticism of the NSW government.

Sydney is awash with new accommodation construction because everyone wants to move to Sydney. Assuming O’Farrell takes the reins, it will be interesting to see if he moves to preserve some of the dreadfully underutilized bowling clubs for their Bentley driving board members.

Congratulations to Kristina Keneally for a superb performance during the live debate with Barry O’Farrell today.  I and many other voters in NSW think you are a wonderful public speaker and a terrible politician in charge of a corrupt, disfunctional and disingenuous political party.

I for one will be voting Liberal at the election on 26 March and I am very much looking forward to handing over the State of NSW to a competent Liberal team. You are surrounded by Labor politicians trying desperately to be the weakest link and all of them are worthy candidates.  That is why most of your team will be voted out.

Thank you for your words; please turn out the light when you leave.

@ Nigel “Congratulations to Kristina Keneally for a superb performance during the live debate with Barry O’Farrell today. “

Couldn’t agree more, which brings on the fear that your wish for a more “competent Liberal team” may go unfilled.  It’s not too hopeful at all when we consider that the only personality on offer can’t hold a feather to one so burdened. And a mere woman as well.  wink Oh Barry… Barry ... Barry come here and let me stomp on your tiny tea-bags..

Yet more internal trouble for Dr. NO, with a prominent Liberal backbencher from the mining boom’s epicentre, Western Australia, saying the cashed-up resources sector needs a new tax.
What’s next Liberals supporting a carbon tax and a flood levy?

“In a significant break from the Coalition’s strong opposition to the Gillard government’s mining tax, WA Liberal Mal Washer says the issue needs more careful consideration.
But he said resources taxes per se should not be off the table - the two-speed economy was a genuine issue that the Liberal Party needed to consider.”

      The Biker and Little Girl

A biker is riding by the zoo in

Washington DC when he sees a little girl leaning into

the lion’s cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket

and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her

        screaming parents.

The biker jumps off his Harley, runs to the cage, and hits the lion square on

the nose with a powerful punch.

Whimpering from the pain, the lion jumps back & lets go of the girl, and

the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him over and over.

A reporter has watched the whole event. Addressing the Harley rider, he says,

“Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I’ve seen a man do in my

        whole life.”

The Harley rider replies, “Why, it was nothing, really. The lion was

behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger and acted as I felt

        right.”

The reporter says, “Well, I’ll make sure this won’t go unnoticed. I’m a

journalist, and tomorrow’s paper will have this story on the front

page.  So, what do you do for a living and what’s your political

        affiliation?”

The biker proudly replies, “I’m a U.S. Marine and a Republican.”

The following morning the biker buys the paper to see news of his actions, and

        reads, on the front page:

U.S. MARINE ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT AND STEALS HIS LUNCH

That pretty much sums up the media’s approach to the news these days.

BOSTON—During a widely publicized press conference at the Boston University School of Medicine Friday, researchers announced a breakthrough new technique that cures homophobia by immersing patients in a large glass tank overflowing with gays.
“Rather than avoid one’s fear of homosexual men, we believe it’s crucial to face it head on,” behavioural psychologist Dr. Dolph Kleineman told reporters, explaining how homophobic subjects are hooked up to a harness and lowered into a room containing bare-chested men dancing suggestively to the latest club hits, kissing, and feeding one another strawberries. “
So far the treatment has been successful, with early test subjects being able to go out into the real world and see a gay couple hold hands without making a bigoted remark.” When asked if there was a risk of subjects getting stuck in the tank of writhing men, Kleineman said the gays would be so oiled up that patients would have no trouble slipping in and out
