This time of year sucks, not because I’m waking up to wash ice off my windscreen but because the sun goes down too early. I’m in the process of renovating the office, during summer I’d have had it done by now. I did attempt to paint the ceiling and walls one evening, but fake light just doesn’t show up all the flaws which need attention.
Which brings me to Bunnings, I spend about 3 hours of each weekend roaming the vacant isles, I’ve considered applying for a weekend shift just to get staff discounts. Hell, I already know where everything is, I’m often found covered in dust, paint or rubble and occasionally someone will ask me for assistance cause I look like I belong there. But really Bunnings is shit! I thought it was better when BBC, Mitre 10 and Bunnings were all fighting it out like Mel and Oksana (what a shit name) for market share. I’m a Woolies boy at heart, so I look forward to the day that Woolies brings back the Biff to Bunnings.

I too have a love-hate affair with Bunnings.  They have broken all the competition and they are not overtly expensive, but the quality of the tools they supply is not there.  So in the end you are paying too much for bad quality.  Then there is the hardware.  The quality is OK, but the prices are not.

Unfortunately there is nowhere else to go.

yes i reckon my week has been worse than Mel and the money grabber

having a sick child in hospital with something uncontrollable and badly affecting him puts very clear defining measures on whats important in life…...and i can assure you its not about 480 million dollars in the bank like Mel, or salary cap breaches for League players, or whether Julia shafted Kevin .....its just not important anymore.

PS- the punch is a great read and a good distraction for a very dark patch

      wake up and

I hate winter know we have to have the rain and the cold but I don’t have to like it.To those who have ice on the windscreens try cutting a potato in halves and rubbing it over the ice it is a much safer way of getting rid of the ice, this is what we used to do in the North East of England.

Kordz, I’ve tried that, no matter how helpful you are to the customers, Bunning’s management are a bunch of arseholes. Steer clear and wait for Lowes.

But those $2.50 sausages sizzles are so delicious!

@AFR, I get suckered into them all the time and end up spending 20-30 on charity food. But then again they keep you working when you get home.

AFR go to the cooking thread for a lead to a good meal. The sausage sizzlers are not even from Bunnings.  Time Bunnings sent some of their upper staff out to learn hairdressing so they can do a better job of catering to their more disheveled clientele.

Maybe if the league players all agreed to pay cuts ordinary families could afford to go to the games.

Mel Gibson reminds me of Roman Polanski : both make only mediocre movies, (and get away with it.)

So Tony Abbott intends to abandon the National Broadband Network?
If he ever makes it to become PM, we won’t be able to just ignore his stupid nonsense. It’s obvious he believes he must oppose and obstruct every Labor initiative regardless of what merit it might have!

      VOTE 1 Mel Gibson?

Brilliant week! Swapped 50kg of olives from my tree for 5 litres of primo oil from our local press (you have to love living in a inner city suburb where the Greek and Italian families are still holding on), parked the kids with grandma and went to the local pub’s annual winter ball on Saturday night, then sat in a freezing cold gymnasium to watch my middle son get his yellow belt in karate.

And I know when I get home, there’ll be a 1/2 dozen Tim Knappstein cab savs on my doorstep, thanks to a thoughtful friend.

great week for me too. swapped $50 for 5 litres of rot gut rum (you have to love living next to a cheap bottle-o), parked the kids in the car and wen to the local pub to play the pokies on saturday night, then sat in a freezing cold park and watched my young kid beating up on the littler ones at footy.

and I know when I get home there’ll be 1/2 dozen coppers on my doorstep, thanks to the neighbours.
