I note that the opposition is again trying to play the xenophobia card.  This time with a new spokesman on border protection - Michael Keenan.  Last night on TV he implied that the governments attempts to establish offshore processing of asylum seekers in East Timor is a waste of time.  He stated that Nauru should again be used.  There seems to be an underlying agenda to see John Howard vindicated.  The simple fact is that when JWH denied asylum seekers their basic human right of recourse through habeas corpus, he committed a crime! Nothing can change that!  I recommend Julian Burnside’s book ‘Watching Brief’.

Amy, your Pyne page is still rather empty. Nicole , MarK, whats the excuse.?
Next time amy, dont get a pic of yourself kissing the camera.
Some people might get the wrong idea., besides you might make Pyne blush with such adoration. He gets his fill from his bathroom mirror.

It’s a “Facebook Pout”, Mr Chong, and I’m traumatised that it wasn’t enough to make you join my group! :p In fairness though, the original picture had three of us in a row making the same face as a joke about a friend of ours who does it all the time.  I thought it was hilarious so I used it as my profile picture.  After the messages I’ve received from posting the group on here, I really think I should change it…

That’s the whole idea Chongy. Blush with adoration. I’m still in the process of setting it up, and keep stuffing it up. My family think I’m an idiot coz they reckon it’s easy. Daughter won’t help, she says I’m too old for FB. Witch. And that photo of Amy is cool !

I joined your facebook group, so you would not be alone.

I understand if you delete me

    • Amy says:

I’d never dream of deleting you, Badger.  I’m forever (or so)  in your debt, you just increased my membership by 100%.  WIN!

      - when you see the Pyne photo I added to the group.

How awesome was that Beandog militia thing?

Totally awesome. I particularly love how the subversion was so apolitical. Probably because it resonates with me. The young are definitely disenfranchised with the ideological extremism of modern politics.

In the article it said the “right” formed their own twitter-roaming attack group called “The Wrecker Squad” or something similar. What the hell is that? The reality of it is the Beandog Militia are culture jammers and with each “attack” they say “F**K YOU” to the ever-more apparent absurdity of modern political culture.

For the right to form a response team with such seriousness of approach as embodied in the name “The Wrecker Squad”, wholly entrapped in their own virtual right-left conflict - Beandog Militia aren’t a part of that. They sit outside it and watch gleefully as their first target (the far right) entirely miss the point - which is, in itself, another win for the Beandogs.

      In summary, awesome.

My bicycle lock key hasnt been working properly this week. Sometimes it is difficult to lock and takes time to close. I nearly missed my train yesterday so I hope it fixies itself soon.

No idea, but go with “Anti Arachis Hyogaea Hypersensitivity” - It sounds pretty important. You should probably carry a card in your wallet or something.

You could just run with nut lover - but that could be misconstrewed…

This year’s Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to a Chinese dissident. The despotic Chinese dictatorship has condemned Nobel for doing so. For those who object to China’s behaviour with regard to democracy, Human Rights, Freedom of Speech etc. your response is simple!
      stop buying Chinese goods.
If all those who claim to be supporters of Human Rights etc. are sincere in their beliefs then stop your whingeing & take some direct action. Your politicians won’t do a thing for they are scared shitless of China. Come to think of it they are scared shitless of every other country as well.
We, The People, can impose our own sanctions against any country we want to. We simply stop buying from them.

    • Yon Toad says:

      11:51am | 13/10/10

Not much of an imposition to impose this sanction. Take a walk through your local “Hot Dollar” and be awestruck by the Chinese manufacturing excellence on display. It ain’t hard to resist buying it?

Its episodes like this that make me glad Australia was settled by thieves, murderers, political agitators, rebels and soldiers and not religious throwbacks who were booted out of Europe.
