      The reason why they were 23 years in the wilderness was because Ben Chifley (Labour PM) took on the union movement.
      Mr Rudd has learned from this mistake.

      I keep hearing the Liberal party trying to tie Rudd to Whitlam and his style. I personally think there was nothing wrong with Whitlams leadership. He wasnt alowed to implement his full ideas. If he was Australia would be a very different beast today and a lot better. We would not see the “me tooism” of both the major parties and the fact that the Australian public can see little difference betwen them.
