The seven inductees to Treasure Island were hole digger Clive Palmer, nerd Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, revhead Sir Jack Brabham, tree-hugger Dr Harry Butler, pioneering medico Professor Ian Fraser, warbler Olivia Newton-John and Kylie Minogue, who some also regard as a singer.
Perhaps the most controversial inclusion is Palmer, the belligerent billionaire who last week called Frank Lowy “an institution who belongs in an institution”. Whaddayouse think? Who else would you have as a National Living Treasure? Is the list a bit of a toss given we’ve got loads of other official honours? What else is floating your boat this Monday?
