Brendan Fevola is one of those blokes who quite literally has trouble as his middle name.

Fevola, left, at a memorable Mad Monday.

If it’s not a phone text scandal over model Lara Bingle, it’s something just as bad, like an allegation of indecent exposure.

After the Lions suspended Fev today, there are serious questions about the bad boy’s future.

Fev is recovering from a serious injury and is already on thin ice after playing ordinary football for the Lions this season - after Carlton sacked him for his off-field indiscretions.

But could this allegation of indecent exposure be the tipping point for the Lions’ management?

Fev has smeared his muddied name across newspapers in the most unsavoury way. He’s been fined thousands of dollars for alcohol-fuelled tomfoolery.

He has assaulted a barman in Ireland while representing Australia, urinated in public and made a fool of himself at last year’s Brownlow Medal count.

There’s been a destructive pattern of Fev’s behaviour over the years and the dramas haven’t stopped.

It’s often champions like Fev, who can be a bit on the wild side, who struggle with life off the field. It’s this personal struggle that led to his family leaving his Brisbane home to return to Melbourne earlier this year.

Despite Fev being remorseful and vowing to clean up his act, there’s been nothing but controversy. The reality is Fev seems incapable of change - and adhering to society’s standards.

The AFL and clubs should crack down harder on bad boys who threaten the game’s reputation with immature behaviour. And now’s the time to enforce stricter rules, so that left-field champions can’t get away with shocking behaviour.

Fevola is one giant pretty boy who will never grow up. It’s time the AFL say no to bad players who break the law. Grow up you guys

Pretty boy? Fev? Surely you jest.

Fevola is a dead set buffoon. He’s had far too many chances. Everyone screws up, but he just doesn’t stop. He just never seemed to evolve and still drags his knuckles. I feel so sorry for his three little girls, imagine having him as your father and role model? He’s not funny, he’s not misunderstood, he just a dickhead!

Fev is a buffoon yeah. But he’s more a drongo. Or a galah. Or a moron. AFL, kick these idiots out of the game!

Yes, Fev has wrecked his career. He’s wrecked his body, his career and his family. Wrecker!!!!!!!!!

      I hope so.

As someone who couldn’t care less about sport, I quite enjoy the weekly scandals. Its fantastic. These guys are worshiped as heroes. Told how talented and fantastic they are from there early teens onwards, given every opportunity, given more money then most people will see in their lives.

Now take the resulting egomaniac, fire him up every weekend, make him as aggressive and tough on the field as you can, praise him for his skill at these things.

Add to this a culture of piss ups.

      Mix well.

Let him loose on the public and enjoy the show.

I particularly love the slightly puzzled looks on their faces when they give the obligatory apology. The bewildered look of someones whose told they’ve done something wrong, but can’t quite figure out why.

You almost have to feel sorry for them.

couldn’t agree more! and I do have a good amount of sympathy for these boys (and in spite of age they are boys because the result of being worshipped from an early age is complete immaturity) because they have not been given the building blocks they need in order to do any better.

Ahhhhh Julie having some legal knowledge I see from your photo in this article a defence for the old Fav - it was only a mockup of the real thing which he can claim remained secure and warm in his trousers - and he can use this photo as evedence of what he actually did present which resulted in a huge misunderstanding ! Yes I see it all - trouble is so did other people.

So if I looked at his drivers license it would say Brendan Trouble Fevola?

Three step recovery plan: 1. rehab, 2. fluff piece on 7 with some sad music and 3. own show on 7.

Wikipedia doesn’t say what Fevola’s middle name is but I very much doubt it is “trouble” as you claim.
Use ‘literally’ when something actually is the case and stop destroying the English language!

I think that might suit him? He can get up to all the mischief he wants in that industry and no one will care. Wonder if someone’s suggested it to him.

Although, watching him peform the act would be too much for your average aussie to bear :-O

Umm, he hasn’t done anything yet.  So quick to judge without hearing any of the ‘actual’ evidence.  Would you be happy to be judged under these circumstances?

Not a fan of Fevola but I will give him some slack.  This last incedent has not been proven so I will give him the benefit of the doubt.  In fact has has mentioned legal action against the accuser.
The incident at the Brownlows, was action ever taken against the producers?  They could see what sort of state he was in and yet they still gave him the mic and put him in front of the camera.
The last incident with the dildo while he still played for Carlton was a setup.  He was handed it just as they took the photo.
Sure he’s a drongo and makes plenty of mistakes but with people like that around your always going to be in the mud.

“This last incedent has not been proven so I will give him the benefit of the doubt. “

True.  But, given his history, there’s little reason for fans to be optimistic.

How about we go back to the good old days when footballers held down day jobs as well as playing football?  These dickheads have too much time and money on their hands, and it leads to the constant “scandals” and “controversy” that ends up all over the media.

Maybe he can fight Danny Green and have some sense smacked into him!

If I were Brisban and had to pay him $900,000 next year, i would have happily invested in a $40 slab of beer and asked him to cut lose.. Not that I am suggesting anything like that happened….

I’m not a fan of Brendan Fevola’s nor am I even an AFL supporter but in his defence - has any of this been proven? He has strenuously denied the allegations and the matter is being investigated. Fact or fiction, the trial by media should hold off until further notice.

Innocent until proven guilty, I’m not a fan of Fev’s but he’s an easy target.
Let’s see the proof that he has exposed himself. Why did it take the woman a week to come forward? Money to be made?
