Bristol Palin and Levi Johnson have hit the rocks (again) after announcing their second engagement in July this year. Bristol claims she dumped the “fame obsessed” Levi after he “played her” and admitted to fathering another baby with ex-girlfriend, Lanesia Garcia.

And while Sarah Palin didn’t condone the engagement between the pair back in July, a recent statement given to People magazine shows she’s in full support of her daughter’s decicion to call it quits: “I wish for Bristol to be able to move forward in life with her same forgiving, gracious, optimistic spirit, but from henceforth she’ll know to trust but verify. Bristol is strong, she is independent, and she knows what is right for her son,” she said.

Are Alaskans honorary hillbillies or just distant cousins? And Bristol? Is she named after a toothbrush?

If there was ever a case of someone being famous because there is nothing else to write about, this is it.

I think Sarah Palin makes Tony Abbott look like a man of the people.

Although, it may be unfair to call her out of touch as there are probably lots of Americans who identify with her

Actually, they remind me of Cashed up Bogans

I was thinking the exact same Macca.  Just look at the names.  I just hope she didn’t name her child Jayden or Tykeisha or something similarly offensive.

Yeah, it’s scary. I didn’t realise America was so full of Bogans. Hollywood doesn’t give us that side of the story…

@Peter, now now, no need for the sarcasm. Whilst Australia does have Pauline Hanson and Barnaby Joyce, could you actually see someone who regularly watches the Matty Johns show being Deputy Prime Minister.

Sorry Macca. There was no sarcasm intended. I agreed with you.. Did you ever get to see the Top Gear show where they drove through Alabama? These guys were terrified…

Yeh, ‘cos that would never happen driving through Lakemba, or Dandenong?

If it makes you feel better laughing at the Yanks that’s fine, but the minute you step outside your inner city enclave I bet you will chuck up your Chai Latte’s in fear.

    • Peter says:

      04:40pm | 05/08/10

Dandenong is great. Many great bargins to be found there.  I have never been to Lakemba. I hold the same fear I do of black people as I do for white. Treat anyone with respect, and it will be returned right back to you.

@Peter,  Clarkson wrote about it in one of his books. He was speeding down a highway with nothing for hundreds of kilometres and he got pulled over for exceeding the speed limit.

He asked the Cop to show some sympathy and a bit of common sense. The Cop responded “Sir, thats what the law is for, we don’t need common sense”.

      Pretty much summed it up

I remain astounded that the Leftards bang on and on about Sarah Palin and her family.

It affirms my view that the Left want people like Pauline Hanson, they need them, and they keep them ‘alive’ while the rest of us (including the right) have long forgotten about them.

The Libs axed her from the party early on, and she only got one term in office, but the usual chardonnay socialists on the ABC and media kept ringing her up for a quote, interviewing her, etc.

Let’s look at Sarah Palin, a presidential candidate who failed and is (I think) Governor of Alaska. She is simply not relevant to Australians, yet the Leftards (and the weak comedians scrambling for any material now that George W is gone) keep banging on about her and her family.

I guess it makes the Leftards feel superior, even though as Australians we have more than enough of our own home-grown morons. They can vent all their bile and be completely unfair (as in this case of attacking Palin’s daughter) because Sarah Palin has been declared ‘fair game’ by the Left for mockery.

Graham Stevens above is one of so many who lampooon this girl, feeling all smug obviously about themselves and their own that this young single mother is fair game. Why is that? What exactly has this young woman done?

Imagine the outcry if Tony Abbott attacked a young single mother the way you lot do..?

Imagine the media harassing say Mark Latham’s daughter like this on and on?

Imagine if Kevin Rudd’s daughter got the same treatment? Instead she happily launches publicity campaigns for her book on the back of her father’s knifing, while the media give her a lovely nice ride.  At no stage has she done anything but out herself out there to push her boook, at any cost it seems.

The only interesting thing about the Palins is why the Leftards here keep talking about them. We all know the uneducated views and the monthly moronic comments from Sarah Palin, but I doubt whether she is the only one in US politics or our own that is like that.

This article says so much more about the hypocrisy of this writer and the Leftards, than it does for the Bristol Palin.

I just think she is hilarious.  No one needs to call her for a quote either - you can get plenty of funny offerings off her Facebook page.  I imagine that pretty much everyone with any common sense thinks she is fair game for mockery, because she gives us so much ammunition.  There is no injustice in calling a stupid statement a stupid statement, unless you are advocating some new form of political correctness.

Also hilarious is the fact that an adult like you is so willing to engage in childish name calling.  It is not just the left that thinks she is funny - were I American, I could have gone either way in that election until McCain’s camp nominated Palin.  Of course, hilarity ensued.

And your overuse of “leftard” isn’t meant to insult?

“Jack”, Palin USED HER OWN CHILDREN/FAMILY, FOR HER OWN POLITICAL PURPOSES. (sorry mod for the caps, but sometimes it’s the only way… )

Do you get it now? (that she’s been proved a liar about so many things is always conveniently forgotten by her supporters) Ms Palin didn’t just offer up her kids, she blatantly used them from day one.

And no, she gave up being Governor of Alaska a few months after Obama was elected. SP realised she could make millions more on the ‘speaking circuit’, or ‘working’ for Faux News.

Palin is Abbott on steroids, and I bet he secretly fantasies about just what he could be like ‘if only Australia did politics like the USA does’ ...lol

    • interloper says:

      03:38pm | 05/08/10

Palin is relevant because she is a significant figure in US politics, with far more influence and power than Hanson ever had in Australia.
Levi and Bristol? That’s just about celebrity culture.

    • iansand says:

      02:03pm | 08/08/10

Palin is significant because she is one of the leading intellectual lights of the Tea Party sect.  Tea Party ideas are leaking into the ranting lexicon of the Australian rabid right.

    • Traxster says:

      The question should NOT be….
‘Did Sarah Come Between Bristol and Levi ?’
      The question should be…..
does anybody really give a fundamental ??
