Dads need to shut their children up too
A Sydney shopping centre has “banned” screaming children from its food court, which makes me want to go to its food court.
The people who run DeeWhy Grand have had enough of kids running amok, ruining everyone’s lunch, and judging by the response to the story they’re not the only ones.
Everyone knows sometimes there’s not much you can do when a toddler drops their bundle and their bottom lip. But most parents make an effort to keep their kids under control in public.
Not long ago I was in a different shopping centre where the staff in the florist were nearly in tears after 20 minutes of a 3-year-old screaming the place down right outside the door. It was almost physically painful.
Her dad was kneeling in front of her saying “come on poppet, we’ve talked about this”... when he should have been marching poppet out the door.
So DeeWhy Grand manager Brenda Mulchay won’t win any friends with her comment today that “Mothers have to be more responsible.”
You were on a winner Brenda, and then you lost me.
